Invited Commission

University of Charleston's new Clay Tower

He was invited in 1994 by the University of Charleston in to submit sketches for a sculpture as "the centerpiece" in an architectural rendering of plans for the new Clay Tower library/science building on the river side of the campus.

The architect saw the drawing for the stainless steel sculpture, and wanted that sculpture for the building's riverside entry. A commission agreement was signed in 1997, and the sculpture was dedicated later that year.
